FAQs

Our goal at Room Key is to make finding low hotel rates as easy as possible, because we know shopping hotel options can be confusing and time consuming. We’ve done our best to compile a few short questions and answers to show you how we do it. If you don’t find the answers you’re looking for, just email us at feedback@roomkey.com

Travelers

Q: How can Room Key offer more Loyalty Member Rates than other travel sites?
A: Other travel sites generally charge hotels a hefty commission when selling their rooms, but because of Room Key’s attractive commission structure, Room Key users get direct access to lower-priced hotel rooms.

Q: Will Room Key have the hotel I’m looking for?
A: Room Key partners with over 60 of the world’s largest and most well-known hotel chains offering 45,000 hotels in 150 countries and more than 6,500 locations around the world.

Q: What are the advantages of booking with Room Key?
A: Room Key is now the only travel site where customers can shop and compare Loyalty Member Rates for more than 60 of the world’s largest and most well-known hotel chains all in one place. Reservations initiated through Room Key are booked directly through the hotel websites and therefore carry all of the loyalty program benefits, hotel perks and peace of mind that customers expect when booking directly with the hotel.

Q: How do I change or cancel my hotel reservation?
A: When you book a hotel directly through one of our hotel partners, and you need to cancel or change your reservation in any way, you simply contact the hotel with which you booked, either by logging in to their website, or calling the customer service number listed on their website. The hotel will handle all of your needs directly.

Q: What does “estimated total” mean?
A: When you stay at a hotel, in addition to the nightly room rate, there are often additional charges, including things like local taxes and hotel fees — and it all varies by city and hotel location. Room Key calculates an estimated total daily cost of the room, inclusive of these taxes and fees. With the “estimated total,“ we do the budgeting math for you. Because this is an estimate, your total at checkout may vary slightly.

Hoteliers

Q: Whom do I contact about a review of my hotel property?
A: Room Key obtains our hotel reviews directly from a third party, TripAdvisor. If you are an owner or employee of a business with a review displayed on Roomkey.com, and you have a question about that review, please contact TripAdvisor at www.tripadvisor.com. Once on the TripAdvisor site, you can use the links in their  Help Center for further information.
